Byford Accountants has been an avid supporter of the Microloan Foundation for many years. This year Darren and family will Trek Malawi’s highest mountain – Mt Mulanje to support and raise awareness and much needed funds for the Microloan Foundation.
The journey will see them push themselves to new limits, whilst being rewarded, seeing first hand where the funds raised go.
MicroLoan Foundation enable some of the world’s poorest people to work their own way out of poverty by providing training and microloans. We help them start successful businesses to build independence and financial resilience.
The loans and training we provide ensures that our clients are equipped to manage their finances and create sustainable enterprises that will help them generate an income and provide for their families. We also focus on informing the women on the benefits of saving and encourage them to make modest savings. This is to provide insurance against future crop failure, family illness and other unpredictable situations. Consequently, this gives them confidence in their ability to weather whatever life throws at them.
Every penny raised from the Malawi Challenge 2026 will help women facing poverty in Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa to build a business and, by extension, a better future for their families.
